You and Me- part 4

Part 4: *Jinxx's POV* One week later, Sammi and I found Ashley at the mall walking through a children's store looking at cribs.
I walked back in that direction as Sammi continued to walk forward.
Ashley looked up and saw me as he was testing a crib using a teddy bear.
When I walked into the store, Ashley put the toy in the crib and turned to greet me.
"Hey!" he said
"You seem to be doing well." I said
"I'm just in a good mood today." Ashley said
"So, how's the baby?" I asked
"The baby's doing great. Dani sent me another text message this morning. Do you want to see?" Ashley replied
"Yeah!" I said as Ashley took out his phone then, showed me the new picture
I looked on at the picture and asked "Do you know if it's a boy or a girl yet?"
"No." Ashley said as he put away his phone
After that day, Ashley would suddenly lose contact with Dani.
*the next day- Ashley's POV* This morning, I couldn't stop staring at my phone.
Waiting for the next text message from Dani.
But nothing showed up.
I waited throughout the day even when I was with Andy shopping for things for his cat.
I began to get depressed and began to fear for the worst.
I began to reach for my phone when Andy looked at me.
"What are you doing?" he asked
"I'm calling Dani! I can't take this anymore!" I said
"What if she doesn't answer?" Andy asked
"I'm willing to risk that." I said as I made the call
I waited as I then heard a voice on the phone that wasn't Dani's.
"Hello." he said
"Is Dani there?" I asked
"No she's not. Who's this?" the man on the phone replied
"Ashley Purdy...sir." I said
I soon heard heavy breathing over the phone.
"You really shouldn't have called this number." the man said
"Why?" I asked
"Dani's been grounded for not telling us about her pregnancy. Her mother and I haven't discovered until this morning through her history teacher that she's been lying about her age to go on dating sites." Dani's father said
"She lied to me about her age. And I fell for it!" I said
I heard a sigh.
"I 'm sorry about that Mr. Purdy. I wish for the sake of the current situation that didn't happen but at least one thing good is going to come from this and that's the child that resulted from this." Dani's dad said
"True." I replied
"Don't worry about the baby. That little cutie is just fine. We're going to make sure Dani takes care of herself before the big day comes and she's told us that she wanted you to have custody...which I'm sure you already knew that." Dani's dad said
"Thank you." I said
Soon, the call ended and I was relieved.
"Better?" Andy asked
"Yeah." I replied
When I got home, I received an email from Dani's father with ultrasound pictures in it.
I got excited as I opened the email and saw the new pictures of my little one.
My baby was sucking their thumb in one picture and in another, yawning.
I fell instantly in love with this little one with each picture I had seen but these were different.
These made me eager to know what this little baby was going to be.
It was the beginning of the fourth month after all.
I scrolled through the pictures and saw one that revealed my little baby's gender.
"A little girl!" I whispered getting excited then, shouting "I'm having a little girl!"
Killer and Tokyo barked at me as I began screaming with joy.
*Jake's POV* As I sat in traffic later that day, my phone rang.
"Hello?" I said
"Jake. You'll never guess what I found out." Ashley shouted into the phone
"You got invited to the Playboy mansion?" I guessed
"Good guess Einstein. But no...My baby is going to be a girl!" Ashley said
"Wow! I didn't know you wanted a girl." I said
"Most of the items I bought were Hello Kitty..." Ashley said
"Of course." I said, rolling my eyes
"But there's always been that side of me that's always wanted a little girl." Ashley said
